Polyfunctionalyzed aziridines each containing two heterocyclic moieties were prepared by Darzens reactions and the corresponding aziridinyl anions, generated by treatment with strong bases, were investigated. Coupling reaction with electrophiles allowed study of the configurational stability, highlighting the different stabilising effects of the heterocyclic substituents.
