Abstract
The volume studies some selected protected natural areas in Italy and Greece. The anthropic factors that are impoverishing their ecological quality (agricultural chemicals, discharges of pollutants that are not treated or not treated adequately, industrial activities, residence and intense exploitation for tourism) are analysed with a view to promoting a progressive growth in the awareness of the community concerning the value of the protected areas). The volume after a review of the existing policies for protected areas in Europe, Italy and Greece, looks at some “case studies”: Torre Guaceto in Salento region (Puglia) and Gulf of Amvrakikos in Epirus.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
