Phenoxo derivatives of metals are interesting, because of the possible insertion of small molecules into Pt-O bonds and association with alcohols through O-H…O hydrogen bonds. For this reason we studied the reactivity of alkylated phenol/phenolate derivatives in the presence of Zeise’s salt and dinitrogen ligands, obtaining complexes of the type [Pt(N-N)(OPh)2], N-N = dinitrogen ligand; OPh = o, m, p-alikylated phenoxo ligand. Single crystal X-ray structure of some of these complexes were also studied, Figure. Chromane derivatives were also obtained by modulating experimental conditions.
