Plato’s Republic continues to arouse intense controversy among commentators, for both its ethical and political project and its psychological, epistemological and ontological implications for the knowledge of philosophers, who, says Plato, should be set as guides of such a project. In this paper, I wish to indicate some of the main lines of discussion that the recent critical literature has followed to bring out some of the problems raised by a reading of the work, proposing an interpretation of them.

Abstract
Plato’s Republic continues to arouse intense controversy among commentators, for both its ethical and political project and its psychological, epistemological and ontological implications for the knowledge of philosophers, who, says Plato, should be set as guides of such a project. In this paper, I wish to indicate some of the main lines of discussion that the recent critical literature has followed to bring out some of the problems raised by a reading of the work, proposing an interpretation of them.File in questo prodotto:
