The increasing attention by hospital and health bodies towards the issues related to instrumentation, medical staff and patients identification and traceability is leading to the introduction of innovative systems, able to ensure access to medical reporting instrumentation and, in the meantime, to guarantee the expected security levels in terms of efficiency, configurability and upgradeability. Commercial solutions often do not satisfy all these needs and cannot manage some important security issues in an efficient way. This paper presents a case study based on the employment of the RFID technologies joined with an EPCglobal standard atypical enforcement, related to medical staff traceability use case in a hospital context. Moreover, we present an implementation based on the Fosstrak framework, able to merge with an authentication system by digital signature on a Smart Card, assuring timely interventions and medical instrumentation data recording needs.

Abstract
Moreover, we present an implementation based on the Fosstrak framework, able to merge with an authentication system by digital signature on a Smart Card, assuring timely interventions and medical instrumentation data recording needs.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
