The recovery of energy is one of the options adopted by the European Community for the sustainable management of waste. The European 2001/77/CE Directive promotes the energy production by the use of biomass, which includes the biodegradable fraction of waste too. In this context SRF can play a very important role in the reduction of CO2 emissions and to optimise the use of fossil fuels. A fundamental step in this direction is the standardization and integration, at international level, of the parameters of these fuels, in order to consider them as a product more than a waste and foster their industrial use.

Abstract
The recovery of energy is one of the options adopted by the European Community for the sustainable management of waste. The European 2001/77/CE Directive promotes the energy production by the use of biomass, which includes the biodegradable fraction of waste too. In this context SRF can play a very important role in the reduction of CO2 emissions and to optimise the use of fossil fuels. A fundamental step in this direction is the standardization and integration, at international level, of the parameters of these fuels, in order to consider them as a product more than a waste and foster their industrial use.File in questo prodotto:
