Solutions of the coupled Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS) system discretized by mean of high accurate schemes up to the seventh-order accuracy are compared to uncoupled RANS simulations in term of accuracy and convergence rate. To ensure a robust implementation and effective convergence toward steady state, a Jacobian-free Newton-Krylov method is tested. Two test cases are considered: a 2D turbulent flat plate and the transonic NACA 64A10.

Abstract
Solutions of the coupled Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS) system discretized by mean of high accurate schemes up to the seventh-order accuracy are compared to uncoupled RANS simulations in term of accuracy and convergence rate. To ensure a robust implementation and effective convergence toward steady state, a Jacobian-free Newton-Krylov method is tested. Two test cases are considered: a 2D turbulent flat plate and the transonic NACA 64A10.File in questo prodotto:
