The essay examines the mitochritics of Frye in his discursive logic, through the authors of reference: Aristotle, G. B. Vico, J. Frazer, C. G. Jung; and the basic interdisciplinary themes: myth, symbol, metaphor, narration. Through this multifaceted material, Frye reaches a profound method of reading the fundamental literary texts of world literature. Particular attention is paid to the ways in which, according to Frye, the metaphor works in mythology (especially in the biblical narrative) and in literary writing. The passage from metaphor to metonymy represents a dichotomy within the processes of signification, and involves the relationship between fiction and reality, between identity and imagery of a hypothetical, utopian, ‘possible’ world.

Abstract
The essay examines the mitochritics of Frye in his discursive logic, through the authors of reference: Aristotle, G. B. Vico, J. Frazer, C. G. Jung; and the basic interdisciplinary themes: myth, symbol, metaphor, narration. Through this multifaceted material, Frye reaches a profound method of reading the fundamental literary texts of world literature. Particular attention is paid to the ways in which, according to Frye, the metaphor works in mythology (especially in the biblical narrative) and in literary writing. The passage from metaphor to metonymy represents a dichotomy within the processes of signification, and involves the relationship between fiction and reality, between identity and imagery of a hypothetical, utopian, ‘possible’ world.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
