The Working Paper describes the theoretical and conceptual frame concerning the theme of work. The term "work" regards a diversity of meanings, as it is a concept that has changed in its definition and in its attribution of value over time. Today's current society has invested a series of changes that are changing the work culture. The theoretical reflection is about the various dimensions of quality of work, that represents an important element of the welfare of individuals, in a labor market which increases the demand for flexibility. The increase in flexibility requires changes in the implementation of public policies, in a context characterized by demographic, social, economic and political transformations.
