Here we investigate the inhibition capacity of cardanol for the corrosion of aluminum alloy 5052 H32 (AA 5052 H32) in biodiesel using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and weight loss methods. The results showed that the inhibition efficiency increases with an increase in the concentration of cardanol. The inhibitive action of cardanol is due to the adsorption of cardanol molecules on the AA 5052 H32 surface without the variation in the corrosion mechanism. The widening of phase angle maxima at an intermediate frequency by adding cardanol confirms the adsorption of a film of cardanol molecules on the AA 5052 H32 surface.

Abstract
Here we investigate the inhibition capacity of cardanol for the corrosion of aluminum alloy 5052 H32 (AA 5052 H32) in biodiesel using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and weight loss methods. The results showed that the inhibition efficiency increases with an increase in the concentration of cardanol. The inhibitive action of cardanol is due to the adsorption of cardanol molecules on the AA 5052 H32 surface without the variation in the corrosion mechanism. The widening of phase angle maxima at an intermediate frequency by adding cardanol confirms the adsorption of a film of cardanol molecules on the AA 5052 H32 surface.File in questo prodotto:
