The article deals with the Middle High German composite treatise titled >Eine gute unerkannte Lehre< (>A good unrecognized teaching<) which is composed of four textual units. Three of these units are also known as independent ones (two sermons, one treatise), but the linguistic and structural form of the independent texts differs from its form as part of the composite treatise. Previous research has always regarded the three texts only as independent entities that have been handed down in various redactions. The article proposes a reading and an interpretation of the composite treatise as a whole in order to recognize and to present it for the first time as an important text.
