The title properly encapsulates the scope of the paper. We explore, from the extensive (though partial) primary data available, supplemented by secondary data, the life and career of the great Italian lyric tenor Tito Schipa (1889-1965). We have significant access to both financial/accounting and vocal/artistic sources, both types of source being significantly in private hands, and our project and presentation, multi-dimensional and multi-media in scope, inter-relate these two aspects, illustrating both the inter-relations of accounting and art, and the very real practical difficulties of such reserach in the context of haphazard recording practices, using the word 'recording' in both the written and the aural senses.

Abstract
The title properly encapsulates the scope of the paper. We explore, from the extensive (though partial) primary data available, supplemented by secondary data, the life and career of the great Italian lyric tenor Tito Schipa (1889-1965). We have significant access to both financial/accounting and vocal/artistic sources, both types of source being significantly in private hands, and our project and presentation, multi-dimensional and multi-media in scope, inter-relate these two aspects, illustrating both the inter-relations of accounting and art, and the very real practical difficulties of such reserach in the context of haphazard recording practices, using the word 'recording' in both the written and the aural senses.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
