The Geomantic Technique and its Applications

Based on unpublished texts of 'Estimaverunt Indi', 'Geomantia' attributed to Willelm of Moerbeke and 'Breviloquium artis geomantie' by Bartolomew of Parma, my contribution aims at presenting a overview of the geomantic technique and its political applications. In order to achieve this aim, I will offer preliminary considerations on the concept of natural divination taking into account the innovative results of a research conduced within the FIRB project “Prevedere gli eventi e dominare la natura: Modelli di Razionalità Operativa e Circolazione della Conoscenza nel Medioevo arabo, ebraico e latino”
