Thanks to funding from the Puglia Region, the “Articolo 9” Cultural Association together with the Dipartimento di Beni Culturali - Università del Salento, has designed a project focused on the topic of cults and rites in ancient Salento: it was made up of a traveling exhibition and related events. The exhibition included didactic-illustrative panels and artistic installations, and was thought to be set up directly in schools, museums and cultural associations seats. The exhibition has been presented on scheduled days, with multimedia support and showing reproductions of ancient vases. The schools were the privileged location for the fitting because the principal aim of the project was the involvement of young students in the knowledge of religious traditions risen in southern Apulia, between the Iron age and the spread of Christianity. Moreover, the choice to conduct the exhibition to children and teen-agers, and not to conduct them in an exhibition place, turned out to be a winning move because the schools, hosting the events, played an active role in the path of knowledge. Other events were correlated to the exhibition, such as theatrical visits to archaeological sites, conferences and storytelling, all of which were closely linked to the topic of worship in ancient Apulia.
