In this paper we publish and make a linguistic analysis of a corpus of letters written by Italian immigrants who settled in the province of Buenos Aires (Argentina) in the first decade of the nineteenth century and which were sent to their relatives living in Italy. Our aim is to identify and to study at a graphic, phonetic, morphological, syntactic and lexical level the phenomena of contact and interference emerging from the epistolary writings under study between the language of the host society (Spanish from Río de la Plata) and the migratory languages (Italian and dialects).
