An overview of the archaeobotanical analyses carried out on material from archaeological sites in the southern Salento (Puglia) during the 16thcent. A.D. is presented. Seeds, fruits and charcoal from the archaeological sites of Lecce, Roca, Castro and Muro Leccese were studied with an integrated approach, aimed at reconstructing the main vegetational and palaeoecological features of the towns and its surroundings.
