This paper discusses the current use of Virtual Reality technology within the Italian museum field. It intends to provide a brief list of the main cases of VR applications developed for Italian museums, by focusing the discussion above the last year scenario. Indeed, during the lockdown period, due to the covid-19 pandemic, the use of technology in museums have been greater than in the previous years. The aim is to provide a brief description of this changed scenario in relation to the use of VR technology, attesting to best practices on the one hand and raising critical issues on the other.

Abstract
