The contribution of the toponymic component in the construction of idioms is, unlike what one might think, truly conspicuous. It is a material, often of considerable importance and scope, which has not had great success in our lexicography. In this paper, we will focus on some Italian idiomatic expressions – no longer in use – that contain toponyms. In the second part we reconstruct the particularly interesting history of the expressions linked to Oga Magoga.

Abstract
The contribution of the toponymic component in the construction of idioms is, unlike what one might think, truly conspicuous. It is a material, often of considerable importance and scope, which has not had great success in our lexicography. In this paper, we will focus on some Italian idiomatic expressions – no longer in use – that contain toponyms. In the second part we reconstruct the particularly interesting history of the expressions linked to Oga Magoga.File in questo prodotto:
