Wide bandgap and high thermal stability FeTi2O5 materials are promising for high temperature thermoelectric applications, green production of hydrogen by water splitting, fabrication of power electronics and optoelectronic devices. High temperature stable wide-bandgap Fe-pseudobrookite, FeTi2O5, sol-gel layers were grown on fused silica and (100)-Si substrates and characterised by thermal, morphological, microstructural, and optical analyses. Characterizations performed on annealed coatings (up to 950°C) show that the material remains in single FeTi2O5 phase up to a temperature of about 590°C. Optical spectroscopy measurements performed on films annealed at 560°C, yield an optical bandgap of about 2.25 eV, a refractive index of about 1.84 at 550 nm, and a UVC photoluminescence peak at about 5.6 eV.

Abstract
Optical spectroscopy measurements performed on films annealed at 560°C, yield an optical bandgap of about 2.25 eV, a refractive index of about 1.84 at 550 nm, and a UVC photoluminescence peak at about 5.6 eV.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
